In the past, your performance was capped by how well you could plan and execute.
But you got so good at it that it's no longer your bottleneck.
Instead, the things that catch you out now take on a different shape:
How do I not let my mood fluctuate with how well my business is doing?
How do I back my decisions when no one has the full picture?
Is my gut telling me a genuine truth, or trying to manipulate me with fear?
All of this is a sign that you are dealing with high-ambiguity, high-stakes challenges.
And unfortunately, the ‘thinking’ part to these challenges is the straightforward part.
In these situations, your performance will be capped by your self-trust and judgement.
But the truly exceptional performers that thrive in these situations aren't just great thinkers.
They don't just perform well. They feel good doing it.
They're not just confident. They're effortlessly themselves.
They don't just back their judgement. They see their gut as an invaluable asset.
“What do you mean by emotional processing debt?”
The easiest way to explain this is to compare it with logical thinking.
Fundamentally, self-trust and judgement are emotional qualities.
Just like how critical thinking and problem-solving are logical qualities.
Therefore, the gap that exists in self-trust and judgement is simply a sign that your capacity to process emotions has not yet been fully developed.
And here's why.
The only way you knew how to process emotions…
... was to push past them.
It would be like someone who only thinks logically… out of impulse.
Read the following and tell me if it sounds like you:
You grew up trying to meet the challenges that others gave you (e.g., study, work).
In pursuing the challenge, certain emotions would surface (e.g., boredom, fatigue).
You saw these emotions as obstacles to your progress, so you pushed past them.
You completed the challenges, and got rewarded for it every time.
But now, pushing past your emotions isn't working:
You can't push past the emotions that are tied to a struggling business.
You can't push past the emotions of a decision that will affect others.
You can't push past the emotions of a gut feeling you know you can't ignore.
And that's because high-ambiguity-high-stakes challenges demand both exceptional logical thinking and high emotional processing capacity.
And all those years of pushing past your emotions? They deprived you of the opportunities you had to grow your emotional processing capacity.
That is emotional processing debt.
I was just like you.
I was the archetypical high achiever: fully paid university scholarships, top 10% at McKinsey. I was also a purely rational mind: every decision made from logic, known by friends as ‘the robot’.
I went through life pushing past every emotion to the point that I wouldn't even feel upset when girls would reject me. Of all the people in my life, I had the largest emotional processing debt to pay off.
But eventually… I paid it off. Through years of therapy and coaching, I finally learned what no one ever teaches you:
No amount of thinking can solve a feelings problem. Only feelings can.
That was the key. And it's so simple that it's almost infuriating:
The only way to increase your emotional processing capacity…
... is to sit with your emotions.
Access your emotions.
Catch the moments where you subconsciously default to analysis to avoid the emotion. Instead, build the muscle to process the emotion by just sitting with it — without judgement or a need to explain it.
“No amount of thinking can solve a feelings problem. Only feelings can.”
Create emotional capacity.
Unblock emotional resistance by uncovering the deeper limiting beliefs that hold you back from doing what you already know is right. Reframe your relationship with your fears so they're no longer your enemies, but your most trusted allies.
“How do you know your values aren't secretly your fears in disguise?”
Trust your judgement.
Transform your newfound emotional signals into an intuition you can trust. Decisions no longer come purely from logic, but from a healthy balance of logic and intuition — so you can act under high-ambiguity, high-stakes scenarios.
“Decision outcome = Logic + Gut − Fear”
Want to try this yourself?
Get started on your journey with this one-page protocol I've put together which expands on the three steps above. These are the exact processes I've refined through dozens of coaching sessions.
This is simple, but it isn't easy. It can be confusing and make very little sense.
But if you're done with navigating this world through an incomplete lens, then it's worth it. And if you follow this path, you will get there eventually.
And if you want to get there faster, then that's what my coaching is for.
I was fortunate enough to have met the right therapists and coaches who collectively helped me piece together what I was missing. But I also noticed a huge gap where the emotionally-minded guides didn't understand the high-achiever mindset (and vice versa). I wanted to bridge that gap and bring something unique to this world:
I understand the high achiever mindset through-and-through.
I won't just tell you: “You don't have to be so harsh on yourself. You've already achieved so much.” — because I know that's not the kind of language that lands with high achievers.
I understand the mindset of someone who weighs heavily on logical thinking.
I won't just tell you: “You need to stop overthinking it.” — because I know how valuable a tool it has been for you throughout most of your life.
I break down abstract emotional concepts into structured frameworks.
I won't just tell you: “You should listen to what your gut says.” — because I know how unconvincing it sounds. Instead, I'll share immediately applicable frameworks like “Decision outcome = Logic + Gut − Fear”.
While my coaching is tailored to the needs of each client, here's what you can expect:

To date, I've worked with a dozen logically-wired high achieving professionals who wanted to build the emotional capacity to perform at a higher level:
“I was afraid of wasting my potential. Once I could accept that fear, I could see options I couldn’t access before, and ways to fulfil my potential I’d never considered.”
Anna Reich — Ex-McKinsey consultant turned entrepreneur
“I can never fail, because I am doing what I want to do. Of course I’d prefer success to failure, but failure is just as valuable to me, because it’s new information about myself rather than a verdict on me as a person.”
Annie Huang — Ex-Palantir deployment strategist turned executive recruiter
“I always operated out of fear. I held myself to very high expectations, and let others hold me to them too. Being able to let that go, and see things at face value rather than only feeling relief when I win.”
Henry Xiao — Head of Talent at Series-A start-up
My clients inspire me endlessly with the accomplishments they achieve and the fullness of life in which they achieve them with:
Anna found what brings out her creativity in entrepreneurship, once she processed her fear of not having her career figured out: she now lives it out as the operations lead for one of the largest online creator communities, CreatorScience.
Annie discovered her ‘downhill race’, once she made peace with the ambitious side of her that had led her in a different direction: she then created her own opportunity to work with one of the world's most sought-after executive recruiters.
Henry could find stillness independent of how his 7-figure agency was performing, once he gave himself permission to feel the feelings without judgement: he now celebrates the agency from afar from his new role as one of Silicon Valley's youngest Head of Talents.
Another client became an inspiring leader, once they could accept all the ways they might let down their team: they now lead the ERP transformation for their 100,000+ employee organisation.
Another client is now gaining noticeable traction in their new role, once they could thank the part of themselves that felt a constant need to demonstrate value: they now lead partnership strategy for one of Asia's most promising AI companies.
None of these clients saw emotional work as woo-woo. They saw how it laid the foundations for supporting elite-level performance.
If you find these examples inspiring, then there's a good chance that you're already an inspiring individual yourself. And if that's the case, I'd love to work with you.
What this work avoids
What this work unlocks
You continue to push past your emotions, until one day, you can't hold them in anymore.
You process your emotions so you no longer stall your actions due to emotional resistance.
You continue to suppress your fear responses, but the toll it takes on your body can no longer be ignored.
You learn how to let go of fear on command, recognising that it's done a lot of good for your life and how it'll continue to aid you.
Each day feels like a rush — putting out one fire after another.
Every day has a natural rhythm to it, free from the crowding of overthinking and emotional spirals.
You continue to make decisions with logic at the expense of what feels right to you.
You back your own judgement because you've harmonised your logic with an intuition you trust.
Your career is flourishing, but deep down, the wins don't quite feel like enough.
Your career taps into your uniqueness, you know it, and you're content with it.
You feel decent, but something feels missing — like an itch that's being tolerated.
You feel alive in what you do. You feel peace within yourself. You feel whole.
This isn't for you if:
You think emotions and intuition are woo-woo
You believe judgement is a purely logical skill
You hate your job and you're wondering when to quit
You're currently overwhelmed in life and have zero capacity for anything else
You're already seeking therapy and you're worried that coaching may interfere
This is for you if:
You see emotional work as one of the highest ROI investments you can make in yourself
You want to trust your judgement but don't know how to
You enjoy your job but you see potential to make it even better
You can create space in your life for this work to land effectively
You value having someone holding a space for you to explore your emotions
Therapy tends to focus on resolving past events. Career coaching tends to provide pathways on how to navigate your career. This emotional fluency coaching is about building your intuition skills. While there may be overlap across the three, the primary focus is different.
This is unlike career coaching or therapy, both of which tend to focus on specific events. Instead, this coaching is about building up your intuition as a decision-making skill. Like riding a bike, it's something that stays with you.
This is highly unlikely. We learn to access your intuition by noticing how it shows up in your body. If you can notice physical sensations, then you can access your intuition.
Most likely online. Unless you're based in Sydney, or I just so happen to be in your part of the world.
If the coaching ever stops adding value, you can request a refund for every session you haven't used.
I'll be transparent with you: I have zero formal qualifications in this space. So why trust me? Because I approach coaching in the way I wish it was done:
I share my philosophies and styles on YouTube for free, so you can have a sense of whether you resonate before you commit.
I share the struggles I've overcome and the identities I've let go, so you can know if I'll be able to empathise with your journey.
I worked through the pain and learned through felt experience, so you know what I'm teaching is real and not textbook theory.
Additionally, I have people who can vouch for me:
The dozen-odd clients who I've coached.
Top-tier executive coaches who back me and wish to collaborate.
My own therapist who literally just told me in my last session that after 3 years of therapy, he has nothing left to teach me.
Finally, I am apprenticing under a certified executive coach to continue honing my craft of coaching.
But let's be honest. You don't want a coach with certifications. You want a coach who's walked the path you're on, and figured a way to get to the place you actually want to be. I may not be that person for you. But only you will know that, based on everything I've shared about myself.
